Shelter management computer program installed

Last week “SOS animals” introduced a new computer program into shelter’s management system. The program is called Animal Shelter Manager (ASM). It will allow the shelter to properly record, file, sort and retrieve information about each sheltered animal, including medical history (assessment, treatments, vaccinations, etc.), as well as people who bring animals to the shelter and those who adopt. The detailed database will provide the necessary information when looking for lost animals. It will be easy to place animal reservations, generate various reports and do many other tasks.

Volunteers, responsible for managing information about the shelter’s animals, have been provided training and already started to use the program effectively.

"SOS animals" is the first shelter in Lithuania to use such specialized computer program, which goes beyond the standards of recording information about animals required by the State food and veterinary service. Our goal is to make “SOS animals” shelter as modern as possible and information technology plays a key role in this process.

We are very grateful to the creator of the program, Robin Rawson-Tetley, for the opportunity to use ASM for free.
