Daily necessities

Animal rescue requires two major expenses – rent of the lodges and veterinary care. We strive to save as many animals as possible, however, because of limited financial resources, we can not afford neither spacious premises, nor to receive veterinary care as often as needed. In order for you to better understand what "SOS animals" daily financial needs are, take a look at the figures below:

Field „SOS animals“ expenses (Eur/month)
Rent115
Primary veterinary care435-725
Total :580-880

Besides primary veterinary care, we spend quite a lot of money treating injured animals (one surgery can cost up to 60 euros or more) and spaying/neutering (25-60 euros for a surgery). We do not euthanize unwanted and sick animals. Instead we take good care of them and find them new loving owners. With every new injured animal our expenses grow, therefore we receive some criticism for our activity. But we hold on strongly to our values and we do not betray suffering animals – we are their only hope. And so, we… keep spending. Because of this "SOS animals" blog is full of heart warming stories about happiness and sorrow, joy and pain, success and the beauty of Life.

For all these reasons we are in need of financial support – every day. For your convenience there are several ways to help us:

Projects

This year we are able to rescue more animals than last year. The donation of 2 % of Personal Income Tax allowed us to buy and equip a new "SOS animal hut", which can house around 30 animals. This project cost us 12 000 euros. It may seem like a lot of money, but think about this – during one month 30 new animals can call this place home! That means that if we continue working so effectively, in a year every saved animal will have used only a little more than 30 euros of the total value of the building, in two years – only a little more than 15 euros, in 5 years – only around 3 euros. Is it not worth the money spent?

Right now we are working on an even bigger project – building the SOS animal shelter. It will allow us to rescue even more animals, to receive a status of an official animal shelter and to stop wasting money on rent. To accomplish this goal we will use all the money received by Pifas.lt from 2% Personal Income Tax, also donations made by natural and legal persons to a separate bank account for shelter building.
